Er is toch op z'n minst een plek op de wereld waar ik oorspronkelijk niet perse naartoe wilde waar ik misschien toch maar eens heen moet al was het enkel ter meerdere eer en glorie van mijn ouders die mij de roepnaam Liesan hebben gegeven.

The Ancient Tombs in Liesan

The Ancient Tombs in Liesan are located in the south slope of the Liesan Mountain, about 1.5 kilometers away from the northeast of the Liesan village of the Jindong town in Nang county, 3200 meters above sea level. Surrounding by hills and strange in shape, the Ancient Tombs are the largest and oldest ancient tombs in Nang county. The Ancient Tombs were divided into the east part and the west part by the steep valleys and ridges in the middle. They were arranged in fan-shaped form. They consist of different tombs in shape, such as long, square, round forms and so on. There are 184 tombs totally (163 in the east part and 21in the west part), covering an area of 815,000 square meters (the east part covers an area of 3,5000 square meters). The average height of the tombs is 7 meters and the tallest one is 15 meters. The average area of the tombs is 27.25 square meters and the smallest one covers an area of about 7 square meters. According to the textual research, the Ancient Tombs were built in the Tupo Empire or earlier.
